Problem: Transfer wheels were originally mounted by pinning the
wheel to the shaft. With the numerous starts/stops of the assembly line, the hole
in the wheel would soon wallow and the wheel would wobble. Backlash also increased.
The pin would also wear and eventually shear. Shafts were often damaged and need
replaced.

the wallowing and worn pin connection. The mechanical shrink fit provides exceptional
holding power and resists shock and torque reversals. The unique single locking
nut provides quick and easy assembly and disassembly. The manufacturer did a cost

downtime and improved assembly time, which resulted in approximately a $250,000
savings.
